Our March 25th meeting went very well, with 18 members in attendance at the Cabin Greens Golf Course dining room.
Joe and Mary Ethel Miller presented the 2014 Kit-Han-Ne Region financial audit, and again, our treasurer, Bobbi Williamson, has done an excellent job with the club's finances. The Miller's were very complimentary of Bobbi's detailed record keeping. Gary Kovar made the motion to accept the audit as presented and Bobbi Williamson seconded the motion. Motion passed by all in attendance.
Marcia Williamson brought in several goody bag items received via her 'mail campaign'. PPG supplied some automotive paint-related posters that we can use as give-aways on the prizes table. Thank you, Marcia, for doing that work for the club.
For the rest of us, please keep trying your contacts for goody bag items. These small give-aways are a good advertising medium for businesses and the items are typically of good use for those receiving them.
The topic of day trips was also discussed and numerous ideas were presented. There are ideas being worked on for these day trips. The Wednesday evening Lincoln Highway Heritage Corridor (LHHC) food/music events, a possible Don Fezzel trip/visit to see his collection in Dubois, Riverside Inn dinner theater, and Tara/Kraynaks/Daffins, and numerous others were discussed.
Bill Johnson and Jorn were 'set up' and attended the Town Hall Meeting at the gym in the old school at East Brady. It was like the Who's Who of the car clubs – Vito from Carcruises.com, John Shapiro from Cruisin Times Magazine, Butch Rocco from Butler/Canfield promotions, Pittsburgh Parts-a-Rama, Rene Grumbaugh from Cook Forest Country Inn Cruise (and other cruises north of route 80), The Knight Cruisers from New Bethlehem, and many others. Many Kit-Han-Ne members, as well as Keystone Kruisers, were there. Bob Zacour and Randy Kruse made it. This is a great event and will grow in the future. We're very happy that Scott and Jason, from Cookie Daze, have picked up this task/event ans will carry it into the future.
This year, we'll be getting new club tee shirts. We have gotten pricing and selection from the Village Idiot in Whitesburg. Members will need to pay for their own shirts. Please try to be at the April 22nd meeting to order your shirt – we'd like to have them ready-to-wear for our May 20th cruise at the Cadet.
The Ford City Summer Fest car show will be on Sunday, July 5th, from 2 to 6 PM. Our club will be in charge of parking, so we'll need some volunteers out for that. I'll get more information to you as I get it from the Summerfest committee.
Mark your calendar for our second 2015 club meeting at Cabin Greens Restaurant, Wednesday, April 22nd, 6 PM dinner, 7 PM meeting.
