Letter from the President
August 2014
KIT-HAN-NE REGION OF THE AACA

Here it is mid-August and the school buses will be running soon. But, there's a lot of cruises yet, and well into the fall.

Wednesday, August 27th, we have our charity cruise. With this cruise, we are supporting two charities -Wounded Warriors of Armstrong County and Cystic Fibrosis. We will start setup at 2PM at the Cadet, so please try to be there to help set up, run it, and/or tear down at the end of the evening. Also, as always, we need goody bag items if you have connections. This month's dash plaque is Joe Zambotti's 68 Camaro beautiful car with a HOT small block V8!

Saturday, August 23rd is our club picnic at 5PM at Boyd and Patti Baker's ranch in Boggsville Heights, PA. The club will provide the meat, drinks and table settings. Please bring a covered dish to share. Family, friends and all local car clubs are very welcome.

Our Kalmar cruise went very well. Somewhere around 75 cars we could have accommodated 100 cars we were able to donate $366 to Relay for Life. To our understanding, Relay for Life did very well on the food sales. Thank you to all of you who helped with the event that's what makes these things successful. Next year, the Kalmar Cruise will be on Thursday, July 23rd same time 4 to 8PM.

We will be having a 'return' 2014 cruise at the West Kittanning Wal*Mart on Sunday, September 14th, from noon to 4PM. This cruise is a joint effort of the Kit-Han-Ne Car Club and the Keystone Kruisers in conjunction with Wal*Mart management. Setup starts at 10AM, and, as always, goody bag items are needed.

Anyone wishing to be a 2015 officer, please let me know our slate of officers will be announced at our September club meeting and a final vote will be held at the October meeting.

We have received our free 4 AACA membership applications for 2015 so, if you know of anyone wanting to join this Region of AACA, please let me know.

Sorry, we were not able to 'pull off' the August 9th Cruising the River cruise in downtown Kittanning such event requires more and longer planning as it costs dollars for the park and costs time in order for PennDOT to close Water Street. Working with the Tourist Bureau, of which we are a member, we'll plan an event for summer of 2015.

The Anything on Wheels Swap Meet is Saturday, September 20th at the Worthington West Franklin Firehall grounds. Come find that rare piece that you NEED!

Our annual club banquet is on Saturday, November 8th at Cabin Greens Golf Course. We will select a menu at our September meeting.

Our next meeting will be Wednesday, August 20th at Cabin Greens Golf Course dining room. Dinner at 6PM, meeting at 7PM. Please try to attend - it is the members that approve club plans.

Thank you,

Bobbi
