Letter from the President
December 2013
KIT-HAN-NE REGION OF THE AACA

Well, we made it through Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Now it's writing Christmas cards, buying and wrapping gifts and making cookies. There was no way to stick a car cruise in there anywhere well, almost..

On Wednesday, December 4th, the Kit-Han-Ne Car Club and the Keystone Kruisers did a 'mini' 4 car cruise at the Mechling Shakely Veterans' Center in Cowansville, PA. We presented the checks to Sean Taladay, director of the center, and he stated that the funds will be used for the purchase of installation of a site-wide satellite TV reception system. With that system, individual residents will have TV access in their rooms. Currently, the site has 3 TV locations in group areas and 67 residents must agree on what to watch. Thank you for making this a Merry Christmas for 67 homeless veterans who deserve to be as happy as others. Both local newspapers had very nice articles on the event.

We had a real good turnout at our fall banquet at the Elks in Kittanning. The food was excellent as always and Jackie Rupp did a great job on the flowers, again, this year they were beautiful. Boyd Baker ran tapes of old Ford commercials over the years remember the light bulb better idea commercials? Thank you Jackie and Boyd. Kevin and Marsha Williamson won the tourist bureau's Armstrongopoly game. Belinda Olinger, Keystone Kruisers, won the ride-em wooden truck donated by Larry Smeltzer. Thank you Larry for that donation Belinda was very excited to win it.

Bobbi Williamson, treasurer, has sent for our 2014 AACA membership cards they should arrive sometime in January 2014.

After New Years, when you're sitting at home with nothing much to do, remember that our first meeting will be Wednesday, March 26th. Please think of day and/or overnight trips you would like to take. And, as always, we need goody bag items and giveaways for the coming year's cruises if you have some connections, please try them out.

If you're looking for a mid-winter event, try the Cook Forest Country Inn Car-less Cruise sometime in February. We'll get the date as soon as it is available. It is a fun event, with good food at the Inn. Typically, people bring pictures of their cruise car and post them on the display table there are prizes to be won also.

If you have a change in your address, phone number or email address, please inform Bill Johnson so that he can update the roster Bill Johnson, 707 Butler Road, Kittanning, PA 16201.

Remember, you can still get your Armstrongopoly game at the Tourist Bureau office - $30 per game and it supports the good work of the Tourist Bureau.

See you on March 26th at Cabin Greens for the first meeting of 2014.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Thank you,

Bobbi
