Hello, one and all! As we move into February, I'm sure some of you are getting cabin fever. Here are two events to get you out of the cabin:
Cabin Fever Cruise at the Cook Forest Country Inn. Door prizes, 50/50, enjoy lunch at the Inn. This is a car-less cruise – just need to bring a picture of your car for display. Sunday, February 23rd, 1 PM to 5 PM
Park Hill Church of God Car-less Cruise, 3314 Lime Plant Road, Parker, PA. Bring a covered dish and a picture of your car and get together with fellow car cruisers. Saturday, March 15th, 1 PM to 4 PM Contact person – Eric Mitchell 814-358-2470
Bill, Sue, Jorn and I have been to the one at the Cook Forest Country Inn last year and we had a great time. Jorn won a Miller Beer Cousin Eddy-style lined hat with the pull-down ear flaps – that has become his favorite hat. Good food and a good time at that event.
Scott Campbell and Jason Jordan, creators of the Cookie Daze Cruise in Reimersberg, have set up a website – cookiedazecarcruise.com – a very nice website with a video of last year's cruise on it. Check it out. These two guys and their cast of great helpers have really put this cruise on the map – people you talk to say they definitely plan to make it to Cookie Daze. This year's Cookie Daze Car Cruise is Sunday, August 10th, 3 PM to 6 PM. That's the official time – unofficially, if you're not there by noon, you're late and will have to park on a side street.
I've been sending fliers out. Vito Capaccio, creator of carcruises.com and the Pittsburgh Mills Car Cruises, took 100 fliers to the Pittsburgh World of Wheels show and I'm sending 100 fliers to the Strongland Home Expo Show at Pittsburgh Mills, that runs from February 14 through 16. I'll also have fliers with me to our March 26 club meeting at Cabin Greens Golf Course, and we'll have your national club membership cards available also.
I'm working on activities for this year and hoping that you are working on some ideas too. Remember to check out the club website – kithannecarclub.com – Bill keeps it updated with new information regularly.
If you have a change in your address, phone number or email address, please inform Bill Johnson so that he can update the roster – Bill Johnson, 707 Butler Road, Kittanning, PA 16201.
Remember, you can still get your Armstrongopoly game at the Tourist Bureau office - $30 per game and it supports the good work of the Tourist Bureau.
Throw another log on the fire and stay warm, and we'll see you Wednesday, March 26th, at Cabin Greens Golf Course. 6 PM dinner, 7 PM meeting.
