Letter from the President
February 2018

On a very sad note, member Dawnisie Luke passed away on January 30th, 2018. Dawnisie, wife of Ernie Luke, was one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met. She'll be truly-missed. Prayers for her and her family.

With the crazy weather, it is hard to think about spring and cruises so, here's an idea Rene Grumbaugh, of Cook Forest area fame, holds her annual Cabin Fever Car-less Cruise-in at the Cook Forest Country Inn in Vowinckel, PA., Sunday, February 18, 2018, from 1 to 5 PM. All that is required is to bring a picture of your cruise car for display simply drive your salt-covered daily beater to the event. There are games, parts guessing, car trivia guessing, 50/50, prizes and so forth. If you arrive early, there's a breakfast buffet lunch starts at noon and you can order from the menu. The inn does have a bar, so adult beverages are available. It is a great get-together with people who have had enough of winter for the season.

You are receiving this letter off the club's new HP copier machine. Purchase of the machine and supplies was approved last year at one of the later meetings and the need became pressing as our own machine had major health issues. The bill will be presented at an upcoming club meeting.

This year, we have 7 cruises six at the Cadet and one at Kalmar Motors north of Leechburg.

Cadet Night Cruise 8 PM to midnight Saturday, June 30 with a rain date of Saturday, July 7. This cruise is a departure from our normal schedule and was proposed by members interested in the 'real Cadet' from years gone by. We're not sure what we're doing yet, but, for sure, there will be music and 50/50. Food is still questionable, but there's always Sheetz open 24 hours. This event has been getting a lot of positive responses, so here we go!

Kalmar Motors Relay for Life Cruise-in 4 to 8 PM Thursday, July 19 with rain date Thursday, July 26.

Members, please try to collect goodie bag items from your favorite sources insurance agents, political folks, car dealerships, parts stores, etc. If you need club letterhead, please let me know.
