Well, here it is July and the weather has surely improved – hopefully it will stay that way.
Our July 10th Kalmar cruise for Relay for Life turned out very well – we had about 65 cars. Len Kalmar donated tee shirts, gift cards, goody bag items, dash plaques made by Karen Connolly, and the food supplies for Relay for Life volunteers to cook up and sell. Kit-Han-Ne Region and Kiski Valley Region AACA donated music, organization, door prizes, parking and a good amount of cars. Participants donated gate money, 50/50, and purchased food to drive the income up for Relay for Life. Even PennDOT contributed new pavement, tar, and all that wonderful stuff that car people don’t want all over their cars – but, they did also stop by and buy food and drink, so it all worked out fine. So, thanks to everyone for the help and thanks to participants for being there and spending some dollars for a good cause.
Don’t forget the Keystone Kruisers Sunday evening cruise at Worthington firehall on Sunday, July 18th at 4 PM.
The July Kit-Han-Ne cruise is 4 PM, Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at the Kittanning Township Fire Company grounds. We’ll start setup at about 2 PM, so please come help if you can.
Also, we’ll be heading to Fredricktown, PA, Saturday, August 7th to ride the ferry across the Monongahela River and go somewhere nice for dinner.
Our club picnic will be on Saturday, August 28th at Mahoning Lake Park – just below the spillway. The tour of the workings of the dam will start at 1 PM and the picnic will start at 2 PM. If you plan to tour the dam, let me know as soon as possible so that I can arrange a count with the park ranger – remember, it was constructed in the 1930’s and there’s a lot of narrow, steep concrete steps inside the dam – if you tour it, be prepared for some exercise. Other area car clubs are invited to this picnic also, so it should be a good get-together.
The Fall murder mystery is Saturday/Sunday October 30/31. The rooms are blocked until July 31st. $199 per couple includes your room, the show, dinner & breakfast the next morning. There will also be an Octoberfest with microbrewery beers, wine, music, dance, and a German marketplace. There will be a Halloween party in the Pub, so bring a costume if you’re so inclined and be ready to party!
Our next club meeting is Wednesday, July 28th, 2010, at Teresa’s Royal Allegheny. Dinner at 6 PM and meeting at 7 PM.
