Letter from the President
June 2014
KIT-HAN-NE REGION OF THE AACA

Now that we're into June, here's hoping for some sunshine! Our May cruise wasn't one of our best, but we didn't get rained out like last year. There was rain all around the area, but not at the Cadet and a lot of regulars showed up. We had 41 cars and made $272 for the club treasury our only expense was dash plaques.

Our June 2014 cruise will be on Wednesday, June 18th. As always, setup will begin at 2PM. If you're available, please try to help at setup, or at tear down those are the times when we need the most help. Marcia, Kevin, Sue, Dave and Ernie have come across with excellent goodie bag items THANK YOU! We'll go through them fast, so, if you have any connections, please try.

The Ford City Summerfest car show is Sunday, July 6th, from 4 to 8PM. Anyone that can help should try to be there by 2PM. Our help with area events such as this, helps to promote our Region.

Our Wednesday, August 20th Cadet Cruise is our annual charity cruise. Marcia Williamson has suggested the Armstrong chapter of Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors they are seeking some financial help for their projects. If you have other charities that you'd like to have considered for this event, please mention them at the Wednesday, June 25th club meeting where the final vote for this year's charity will need to be held. Per AACA rules, please remember that political or religious charities are not eligible.

Sunday, July 13th, we have a cruise schedule conflict day 2 events, but possibly a 'split day' may work if you're interested in a 'full day'. South Buffalo Township fire hall and Keystone Kruisers at Worthington West Franklin Township fire hall. We have club members associated with both events, so, supporting each event is encouraged. The Keystone Kruisers event is always 'late day' sign-in between 4 and 6PM and ends at 8PM, so possibly an 'early day' stop at the South Buffalo fire hall and then head up to Worthington? And, Saturday, August 9th is another cruise schedule conflict day maybe handled the same way - Kittanning Care Center and Riverblast no times yet pulled off well, I'd say an early-day stop at Kittanning Care Center for a short car show for the residents and then off to Kittanning for Riverblast.

Our annual club banquet is on Saturday, November 8th at Cabin Greens Golf Course. We will select a menu at our September meeting.

If you plan to attend the Laurel Highlands Region AACA sit down dinner on Sunday, June 22nd, from 4 to 6PM, get your reservation in by contacting Barb Erny at 724-537-9479 or 724-527-3819. And, if you plan to participate in the Butler Old Stone House Region (BOSH) road rally on Saturday, August 23rd, starting at 9AM, and going all day, please contact Terri Yaroschak at president@aacabosh.org or 657 Saxonburg Road , Butler, PA 16002. Sorry, I do not have a phone number.

The Keystone Kruisers Ice Cream Rally Poker Run is Saturday, August 16th, 3 to 8PM. $5 entry fee and a 50/50 drawing. Start and finish at Franklin Village Mall and visit 5 ice cream stops (why not?) to collect your poker hand cards.

Again, if you have day trips or over-nighter ideas, please let me know.

Remember to check our website for all cruise information Bill does a great job of keeping it updated. Please inform Bill of any changes in your club information or if you know of a cruise or event not listed. Bill Johnson is at 724-548-7435 or bill@zmax.us>.

Our next meeting will be Wednesday, June 25th at Cabin Greens Golf Course dining room. Dinner at6 PM, meeting at 7PM. Please try to attend - it is the members that approve club plans.

Thank you,

Bobbi
