As I’m sure you know, your letter from the president is fashionably late and our May Cadet cruise was seasonably wet.
The May 16th cruise turned out very wet – we had about 30 cars, off and on and we did have a small 50/50 won by Dave Brown. Our members really came out and helped. Jim Ridinger started cleaning up on the back hillside and many others pitched in to help cleanup of what had come down over the winter – that area really looked good when they were done. With a big crew, we set up in good weather and then the rains came, so we were already committed. Thanks to all who came out to help and thanks for the goody bag items. Here’s hoping the June cruise will be dry.
The May 12th poker run was a lot of fun. We had 12 people end up at Garrett’s Place for lunch. One route even had a detour as there was a bridge out of service over toward Marwood Road – no problem – everyone got there fine and Joe and Mary Ethel Miller won the cold hand poker game – a pair of tens and a dining gift certificate for Garrett’s Place. They ran the Buick Roadmaster and had their grandson with them.
Saturday, June 9th is our trip to Snyders, TP Tool and Charlies for dinner – the destinations are just across the border into Ohio. We’ll meet at the Park and Ride at 9 AM.
I’ve blocked 12 rooms at the Riverside Inn – October 26th and 27th. The 26th is the murder mystery and the 27th is the Medival Feast and Halloween party. You can choose one or the other day, or both days. The cost for one night is $209 and two nights is $399. This is a couples cost and it includes your room, dinner and the show, and breakfast. Saturday, you can spend time in Cambridge Springs (some antique shops) or Erie. Call 1-800-956-9490 for reservations and let them know you’re with the Kit-Han-Ne Car club group under the name Bobbi Jensen.
Our charity for the August cruise was chosen at the last meeting – it will be Orphans of the Storm.
Our Wednesday, May 23rd meeting will be at the Subway on Water Street in Kittanning (Subway Restaurant this time). Dinner at 6 PM and meeting at 7 PM. Please park in the rear parking lot at the restaurant.
