Letter from the President
May 2018
KIT-HAN-NE REGION OF THE AACA

Our April 25th, my birthday, meeting went quite well many topics on the agenda. Our first Cadet cruise will be Wednesday, May 16th (as of this writing, rain is predicted) with a rain date of Wednesday, May 23rd. Remember, if we have rain on the scheduled cruise date, we have our regular monthly meeting at Cabin Greens Golf Course instead we can always eat indoors if it is raining outside. The cruise is from 4 to 8 PM, with setup starting at 2 PM. Jorn will be at the Cadet most all of the day with multiple hauls of club equipment in mini-vans instead of the usual box truck plus, inspecting and cleaning the site for the evening's event the first cruise is always the most work. Please come to help with the 2 PM setup if you can. We've done well on gathering goody bag and door prize items, but if you have any connections for more, then please use them those items are a good part of the success of the event.

Club members have asked about getting the neon orange Kit-Han-Ne T-shirts The Village Idiot has our logo on-file (no additional cost for that) and has offered us the shirts at $6 (S, M. L, XL), $9 XXL, and $10 XXXL. We're also pricing hats through the Village Idiot, but we don't have final numbers yet probably a dollar more than a shirt if we buy in volume. If you'd like a shirt, or hat, or both, let me know so that we can put a quantity together to get the good pricing.

Sunday, July 1, we will be helping with the Ford City Summerfest. As in past years, we'll be in charge of the gate and parking so, if you're going to attend anyhow, please consider helping out with these tasks. We're working with their committee for improved signage to get cars coming in the correct way.

Sugar Creek Nursing Home has a make-a-wish program for their residents one common request is a wish that car club people bring their cars to the home for the residents to enjoy and reminisce. We have been asked, by home management, to bring our cars for an informal 'showing' on Saturday, June 16, 2018. Please consider a drive out though the Worthington countryside to find the much-hidden Sugar Creek Nursing Home. Restrooms are available and we believe that there will be refreshments.

The Keystone Kruisers 2018 Worthington kruise-in is scheduled for Sunday, July 8th, 4 to 8 PM, at the Worthington fire hall parking lot. This is always a big event and a great chance to maybe win some money plus, the food offered by the firemen is excellent.

Reminder - Cadet Night Cruise 8 PM to midnight Saturday, June 30 with a rain date of Saturday, July 7. This night cruise is a departure from our normal schedule and was proposed by members interested in the 'real Cadet' from years gone by. We're not sure what we're doing yet, but, for sure, there will be music and 50/50. Food is still questionable, but there's always Sheetz open 24 hours. This event has been getting a lot of positive responses, so here we go!

Our 2nd club meeting of the year is Wednesday, May 23rd, 2018, at Cabin Greens Golf Course. Dinner at 6 PM, Meeting at 7 PM. See you there. Please try to patronize the restaurant as the meeting room is free to the club.
