LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT – KIT-HAN-NE REGION OF THE AACA

Here it is November and we’re moving into hibernation (garage season in the north). At our October 28th meeting, we elected our 2010 officers and executive board. They are: President – Bobbi Jensen, Vice President – Boyd (Chef Boyd Ardee) Baker, Secretary – Mark Crissman, Treasurer – Donna Kovar, Webmaster – Bill Johnson, Legislative Liaison – Jorn Jensen, and Executive Board – Sue Johnson and Jackie Rupp.

The officers will appoint a committee to amend and re-write our Kit-Han-Ne Region by-laws and present them to the membership for changes/approval. This will be completed over the garage season – January, February, etc.

We have 20 people traveling on the Tara, Kraynak’s and Daffin’s Chocolates trip this coming weekend. Make sure you leave home hungry because there’s lots to eat! That’s this Sunday, November 8th.

Our Fall Banquet is Saturday evening, November 14th at the Kittanning Elks. Cocktails (cash bar) at 5:30PM and dinner at 6:30PM. The buffet is $12 per adult and $6 for children under 12. Please have exact money or a check made out to the Kit-Han-NE Car Club in an envelope to give to treasurer Jim Schultze on the night of the banquet. That preparation will help Jim a lot in accounting for everyone and their dollars.

Our 2010 cruises are set. We start early with a Good Tire/Kittanning Twp Fire Company cruise at the Kittanning Township Firehall grounds on Wednesday, May 5th. It is called the Cinco de Maio Cruise and it will kick off our season. If it goes well, we’ll discuss continuing those cruises during the season, much the same as Good Tire has done them in the past. Fire Company will be cooking food – and you thought cruises were about cars – cruises are about food, with some cars thrown in. We need a volunteer to design a cruise flyer for this cruise and Jensen’s will make the copies for distribution.

Then we move on to the Cadet for our regular Wednesday cruises – May 19th, June 16th. Then to Kalmar Motors for HAVIN cruise on Saturday, July 10th. Then back to the Cadet for Wednesday July 21st, August 18th, and September 15th. Then we finish the season at the Cadet with the fall cruise for HAVIN on Wednesday, September 29th.

Please think of new ideas for 2010, trips & cruises. Our first 2010 meeting will be Wednesday, February 24th, weather permitting (remember – garage season), at Teresa’s Royal Allegheny. Dinner at 6PM and meeting at 7PM.

Remember – 2010 dues are due by November 15th, 2009. Envelopes were sent with the last letter from the President – don’t miss out on being a member!
