The AACA Hershey national meet, last week, was a lot of fun. Thousands of vendors and many more thousands of buyers, people from all over the world – beautiful cars, rain and chocolate. I really liked a car in our hotel parking lot – a two-tone lilac 1958 Oldsmobile 98 2 door hardtop – just loaded with chrome. Friday had a total of 7 inches of rain and there was local area flooding as a result.
As you all know, our last club meeting of 2013 is Wednesday, October 23rd at the Cabin Greens golf course dining room – 6PM dinner, 7PM meeting. We will vote-in our 2014 officers. The slate is – Bobbi Jensen – president, Boyd Baker – Vice President, Bobbi Williamson – Treasurer, Mark Crissman – Secretary, Bill Johnson – webmaster, Jorn Jensen – Legislative Liason. Also, two executive board members will be asked to serve for the 2014 year.
Our club banquet is November 9th at the Kittanning Elks. Cash bar 5:30PM to 6:30PM, dinner at 6:30PM – turkey, real mashed potatoes & gravy, vegetable, stuffing, noodles, coleslaw, rolls & butter, coffee, tea and cake. $12.95 per meal and $6 for children under 8 years of age. Please plan it on your calendar. All meals need to be paid for, in advance, by November 3rd to Bobbi Williamson, treasurer, 302 Cherry Tree Lane, Kittanning, PA 16201. Family and friends are welcome.
Please remember to pay your $10 Kit-Han-Ne Region dues for 2014 – they are due by November 15th in order for your national dues to be paid 'on time'. Local dues are due to Treasurer Bobbi Williamson, treasurer – 302 Cherry Tree Lane, Kittanning, PA 16201. One envelope, one mailing, is suggested if you're going to the banquet AND renewing membership for 2014.
We've received our yearly free four national memberships from the AACA, so, if you know of someone wanting to join the Kit-Han-Ne Region, let me know. They'll still need to pay the $10 local dues. These free memberships only apply to new AACA members, not returning AACA members.
If you have a change in your address, phone number or email address, please inform Bill Johnson so that he can update the membership roster – Bill Johnson, 707 Butler Road, Kittanning, PA 16201.
Joe and Mary Ethel Miller have agreed to perform the 2013 audit of the club financials. Thank you, Joe and Mary Ethel, for agreeing to perform this audit.
A suggested fall cruise up north – possibly some good fall foliage opportunities – the Bruce Wilson Cruise at Crown, PA, at Sportsman's Paradise, right on route 66 in the Vowinckle/Cook Forest area. Noon to 4PM, Sunday, October 20. This is a benefit cruise put together by the folks that organize the Cook Forest Country Inn cruises and by a group of Bruce Wilson's drag racing buddies. Bruce has cancer and his medical bills have basically overwhelmed him – so his friends are putting this together as a benefit for Bruce.
Our 2014 cruise schedule is set – Wednesdays at the Cadet – May 21, June 18, July 16, August 20, September 17. And, the Kalmar Relay for Life cruise is Thursday afternoon/evening July 24.
Please start thinking of 2014 'over-nighters' and 'day trips' if you'd like to do some of those as a group. What would you like to do? Please let me know.
Please try to make it to our last regular meeting of 2013 – Wednesday, October 23 at Cabin Greens golf course dining room – 6PM dinner, 7PM meeting.
Hope to see most of you at the Banquet at the Elks!
